About

My name is Jessica...I love quotes, so I will explain who I am in quotes...
{the quotes are in no particular order}

1. "If you can't figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose." -T.D. Jakes

I am having a hard time figuring out my purpose at this point in my life. I graduated from college, I got a BA in Graphic Design, and I am having trouble finding a job therefore I am having trouble figuring out who I am or what I have been put on this earth to do. I have two passions in life: fashion and design. I love being creative and I love anything related to makeup and fashion therefore I thought I would start a blog and a Youtube channel to combine those two elements. It is the best of both worlds because I am able to put together lookbooks to hopefully help anyone that watches me while being creative and adding graphic design elements to both my videos and my blogs. I hope that something good comes out of this and that my passion shines through.

2. "We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will."

This is my biggest dream, to create something in this world that will live forever even after I'm gone. I don't know what that will be yet, I hope someday I can write a book (which I am working on at the moment), make art that people will be proud to hang up, create my own clothing line, invent a life changing product, etc. I have too much creativity, I have too many ideas floating in my head that I just write down on stickies or on my phone when I think of them but then I put them away and forget about them so I hope that I can at least make one of my ideas come to life.

3. "The goal is to not find a job, but to create one for yourself."

This is my ultimate goal in life, my biggest dream is to create a job for myself. A job that will allow me to do what I love and help others in the process. I keep thinking of business ideas but I think I am thinking too hard, I am just going to give it my all to this blog and Youtube channel right now and I hope the rest of the puzzle pieces fall into place soon.

4. "The work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life" -Jessica Hische

Funny that somebody named Jessica said that quote because that is my name! When I was in school I was definitely a procrastinator, but I always thought that I did my best work under pressure when I knew I had limited time to finish. While I was procrastinating I would often find myself drawing and that is when I knew that I wanted to become a Graphic Designer. While I was studying for my Bachelor of Arts, I found myself procrastinating on Youtube. I would spend hours watching makeup and outfit videos and I just loved how these were normal girls posting up normal videos to help other normal girls. I loved seeing their editing of the videos and how each of their videos became like a mini piece of art in itself and I knew that someday I wanted to do videos myself. When I discovered Pinterest that is how I spent my time procrastinating. I would spend hours pinning outfit ideas that I could use to create outfits with the clothes that I already had in my closet. After that I started drawing the outfits and making little lookbooks on paper and that is when I felt like I had to start a blog and a Youtube channel. What better way to put all the things I do while procrastinating than to be creative while making Youtube videos about outfit ideas and lookbooks.

5.  "What would you do if you didn't have to work for a living?"
 "What would you do if you weren't afraid?"

These two quotes are somewhat similar to me. I have asked myself these two questions so many times but I feel like I am finally brave enough to listen and act upon my answers. If I didn't have to work for a living I would be doing what I am trying to do right now, making fashion videos and being creative on the editing of those videos. I would also create art and share it with the world which I also do already (I have another blog especially for art but I don't think I am ready to link it to this blog yet for personal reasons). The second question was an important one for me because I am usually scared of a lot of things. I was really scared of making videos and putting myself out there for others to criticize but I finally realized that life is too short to be afraid of doing what you love.

6. "Don't change so people will like you. Be yourself and the right people will love the real you."

I have lived through this quote and learned to do what it says throughout the years. That is exactly what I want to do with my videos and with my blog. I am not trying to copy anybody, I am not trying to act like something I'm not, what you see is what you get. I just want to be myself and I hope that soon people will find me, right now I am undiscovered. =)

7. "There are seven days in the week and SOMEDAY isn't one of them."

This quote is one that I am still learning how to live. I always postpone things for tomorrow or next week or next month and I have realized that my life is just passing me by and I haven't lived it the way I want to and I haven't done so many things that I want to do. I have decided that my life starts now and the first step for me is making videos.
